Welcome to the blog of Matt and Laura, two graduate students who were on an adventure in the land of windmills, wooden shoes, dykes, and Heineken - The Kingdom of the Netherlands. During the week, Matt was doing graduate research at TU Delft and Laura was having a blast without him; on the weekend, there was no telling where they would end up. Matt and Laura returned to The States in August 2009, but you can still catch up on their European adventures (and misadventures) here.

i LOVE kindersurprise! when caroline and i were in europe you couldn't buy them in the states because the toys were small and they thought they'd choke kids, but you can find them around sometimes now.
That is why there is a baby frowning on the package - not for under threes :)
I love kinder eggs! I got a smart car once...
can you really get them in the states now? I will have to go on a hunt!
We are all about the kinder eggs at our house.... well, actually I can't stand them cause the little toys end up all over the place... but the kids love em!
My sister-in-law used to bring those to the kids from Germany!
Oh hell yeah.
~Caroline L., who not only told Laura about Kinder eggs on Skype, but opened one in demonstration of their awesomeness.
Caroline, are you telling us you just happened to have a kinderegg at your disposal when Skyping with Laura? So hysterical.
Yes and she took it apart and explained how to eat it step by step!
